Yo! Welcome to the very start of something that I never expected to happen. If you had told me a couple months ago that I would be spending my days surrounded by some of the world's most precious stones, I probably would've looked at you funny and laughed. Up until recently, I had zero interest in gems, jewellery, or diamonds. My expertise lay in a very different kind of craft, and that is brewing espressos, mixing drinks and making and keeping the clients happy as both a barista and bartender. But as we all know, life has a very strange way of shifting gears. A month ago, I was head hunted to work as a bartender/customer liaison at a luxury jewellery company right here in South Africa. All of a sudden I go from just working with coffee to being surrounded by diamonds and Tanzanite. I walked onto the showroom with absolutely no knowledge on gems or jewellery.
